Time for a change of pace

So not only is it a 3 day weekend, which is a nice change of pace, but I also changed my hair up a bit.....

That's right....no more blonde going on here!! Brown hair seems so fall time to me, so it's a perfect transition into what will hopefully soon be some cooler temps.  Who else is getting a little tired of the heat??!!  ;-)

Oh and I'm also trying out a new beauty routine....shockingly my obsession with clothes shopping and my love for good lipstick doesn't really mean I'm a stickler for a good skin care routine.  I know, I know....I should be......AND that's exactly why I am trying out a routine for the next month.  I'm using Derm Exclusive.

The routine's pretty simple:

I just use this once or twice a week to exfoliate dead cells and shrinks the appearance of pores.

This helps with dark spots and uneven texture.

Step 3: Collagen Lift
This helps firm and lift skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and under eye circle.

I love this, because it instantly plumps lines and wrinkles while reducing the appearance of dark circles. (Who doesn't need that?!)

I can't wait to show y'all the difference in my skin after 30 days!! ;-)  ~Kendra~

2 Week PiYo Results and Update- Making Progress!

Today officially marks the completion of two whole weeks of PiYo...woohoo!!  Just getting 1/4 of the program done is HUGE for me.  It means for two weeks straight I've woken up at 5:15am and knocked out my workouts (exempt on the weekends...I slept in lol), it means that I pushed myself through and my back pain is way less because of it, it means I'm taking control of my health again and NOT letting it control me.

So let's rewind for a sec....Here's where I started thanks to a back injury and over 2 months without a single workout:

And here's where I'm at today:

The loss of inches in my midsection is super noticeable in the side by side....Gotta LOVE that!!!

I am feeling back to my old self...yes, I still have back pain from time to time, but it is soooo much better than before!!! I have so much more energy and honestly, the energy helps me stay on track with my eating, because I actually have the energy to food prep, which helps me stay away from the dreaded drive-thru lines.  I can't wait to see what changes the next two weeks will bring!! :-D

If you struggle with join pain, PiYo may be a GREAT fit for you!  Add me on Facebook HERE or EMAIL ME for more info.  ~Kendra~

3 Day Refresh Results

Let's start with WHY I needed a little refresh.....well, back track to early June 2014.  My back started hurting and after a week the pain grew so intense that my husband took me to a Rapid Med center to get it checked out. I was basically hunched over in pain.  The doctor made sure I wasn't ill and sent me on my way with some pain meds...my super smart hubby suggested I go to a Chiropractor, so the next week that's just what I did and man, am I glad I did.
He did X-rays and found out my neck was slanted abnormally, I had slight scoliosis in the middle of my back and the vertebrae at the bottom of my back were smushed (yes, that's a technical term lol) together.
I started going to him three times a week for shock therapy, adjustments and acupuncture. As time went along my back started feeling better and now I'm only going twice a week....yay!!  I recently got cleared to start exercising again, but during my back injury my eating went to crap....so to get on track with that and my exercise i kicked off the 3 Day Refresh.  I started by taking the dreaded BEFORE pics....check 'em out:

Yup, I felt super fluffy and just not my best....

Day one of the 3 day refresh:
I started at 139.8lbs, a fluffy tummy and low energy.  On day 1, I did a PiYo workout, which really helped to loosen up my back.  Drinking my Shakeology for breakfast was not only filling, but it also helped me stay on track with drinking it daily.  I was worried that i'd feel hungry all day, but i didn't....I did have to go to the restroom at least once an hour with all those fluids!!! lol  But hey, my desk is far from the bathroom so I got in some extra step. (Always look at the positive, right)
Day two of the 3 day refresh:
I was down a pound and my energy was up.  Did another PiYo workout and woke up early to do it.  I've found that getting my workout in before my day gets started makes it waaay more likely that it will get done.  The Fiber drink was not my fav so I decided to use a bit less water on this day so I could just chug it down.  Well, I didn't use any ice...this made it a goopy consistency.
TIP: The colder the water the better the Fiber drink mixes!!
Other than the fiber drink, everything tasted yummy!! ;-)
Day three of the 3 day refresh:
Day 3 went really well...I was so excited that I completed 2 days that I had the confidence to finish up strong.  Got in another PiYo workout and stuck to the plan 100% again.  Yay!  It was a little tough, because my hubby decided to make the yummiest meals every for dinner all three of these days so on the last day i was dreaming of what dinner I was going to have the following day lol.
I planned it to end where the next day was my PiYo rest day and my hubby and I's date night....the perfect storm! lol
Sooooo the results are in! When I started on my journey with the 3 day refresh, I had no idea I would get these kind of results!  Most people have lost between 3-5lbs in three days....although I only lost 2.3 the difference in inches around my tummy was AMAZING!!!  I lost a ton of the fluff and just felt solo much better.  Since my back injury in early June my diet suffered like no ones business!  My workouts were nonexistent too, so that in combination with my diet, I needed something BIG to kick off my weight loss again. I still have about 20 lbs to go to hit my ultimate weight loss goal, so I’m a work in progress, but the refresh totally helped me get my groove back.

PS: My diet was really really suffering before I started this, I was eating horribly since my back injury.  I didn't cheat at all during those 3 days. I absolutely plan on doing this quarterly!! The Bombshell Leadership Retreat: Will you be there?

Back in March, I qualified to go on an awesome, all expenses paid retreat with my fellow Beachbody coaches in Pittsburgh.  We spent the weekend getting to know the people we'd only seen on Facebook, building relationships and learning a TON about how to grow our businesses.  Kati, my awesome coach, treated us to an incredible weekend....seriously, it was a GAME-CHANGER!!

The weekend included wine, workouts, gifts and girl time. <3 p="">

Built forever friendships with like-minded ladies!

Received powerful training from an Elite Coach.

Thanks to that weekend, I got to meet and bond with the girl who's now become my Success Partner, Megan:

But even more exciting than that retreat back in March is that this time....in November...I get to take some of my coaches with me to an amazing Leadership Retreat in Florida.  Want to know how you get to go?  The only requirement is that you must be a Diamond Team Bombshell Evolution Coach.

If you've though about becoming a coach or want to learn more.....now's the time to get plugged in so you can come with me to this amazing retreat!  Fill out an application HERE and we'll chat about the team, coaching and if it's a good fit for you.  ~Kendra~

Leadership Tip for Your Beachbody Business

When you're busy with coaching, running challenge groups, planning for events and of course taking care of your family, it can be hard to remember to do those every day things that makes us great leaders like reading personal development, drinking Shakeology and making time to workout.

If we want our team members, coaches and challenge group participants to get healthy and fit, then we need to lead by example.  Check out my video for some details of leadership that I enjoyed from a book I'm reading:

7 Day Coach Sneak Peek Starting Soon

Have you heard I love my "job"? I love getting those messages saying I've inspired someone or running into people at an event hearing how they lost weight and feel better. It's the fuel that lights my FIRE and DRIVES me to keep going.
I love helping people change their lives for an amazingly better one. We can all relate to being in a place where we have no energy and the pants don't fit. Or going to the doctor and getting news that's maybe not so good... Not knowing where to start and knowing it's a huge mountain to climb. That's why we band together, as a fitness family, lifting each other up with encouragement to start and to keep going.
It's a rewarding job and it keeps us coaches on track at the same time.
So come and take a look.
If you've ever been curious now is the time.
We start Monday.
No obligation
No pressure.
Do you have a burning desire to do something bigger than you?
Do you have the desire to get yourself or your family out of a rut?
Add me on Facebook and then message me if you'd like to take a peek.  ~Kendra~

5 Way to Break Through a Weight Loss Plateau

You're tracking calories, working out every single day, then bam! For a week or two, the scale refuses to move...and you realize you've hit that dreaded weight loss plateau. Now what do you do?

Even though it's completely normal to hit a snag in your fitness journey, a perceived setback like this can send even the most dedicated dieter off course, away from healthy eating and down a slipper slope toward cookies, cake, and pizza. But you can be strong and start getting back on the weight-loss track again. Try at least one of the following techniques, and there's a good chance you'll burst through that plateau in no time.

1. Zigzag your daily calorie intake.
If your average daily intake is 1,400 calories, try dropping to 1,200 one day, going up to 1,800 the next day, and then dropping back to 1,400. This will keep your metabolism guessing. You can experiment until you find the right calorie levels for you.

2. Switch up your exercise routine.
If you do the same workout each day, eventually it can start to become less challenging, and (unfortunately) less effective. If you push yourself to new levels of strength or exhaustion, you'll almost certainly see a shift. Here are some ways you can challenge your body:
  • Swap your jog for a bike ride.
  • Try weights with your cardio routine. (like ChaLEAN Extreme® or RevAbs®)
  • Add intervals of high intensity to really make you sweat. (like P90X3 or INSANITY®)
  • Drop to the floor for 10 push-ups right now!
Just try something different. ;-)

3. Eat some almonds.
They're a great snack, plus they can help you burn fat. That's because they contain fiber and fatty acids—the good kind of fat that helps you lose weight.  So next time you grab a snack, try a small handful of almonds.

4. Get more sleep.
Your body recovers for high intensity exercise much faster while it's asleep, and if you're burning the midnight oil while trying to get your workout in, you could easily plateau from that lack of recovery time.

5. Relax.
One of the BIGGEST thing besides diet and exercise that can cause you to plateau is stress. There's a million reasons for stress, almost all of which are influenced by the world around us. One of the best ways to alleviate stress is to have some alone time.
You can also try doing a little yoga.....but if you're not into yoga, then consider at least adding some stretching into your schedule. Most of Beachbody's programs have at least one stretching session. TurboFire® even has two!

Motivation-It takes you places!!

Feeling super motivated today.....SERIOUSLY thankful for a husband who has encouraged me to be a Beachbody coach!! Not only has he encouraged me...he's pushed me to start dedicating more time to my business and my dreams.

This week I've... had some HUGE ah-ha moments, I've recently partnered with an AHHmazing success partner,
Megan McCusker & I'm making scary, crazy plans to help people reach their health and fitness goals....I know what an incredible change it was for me when I made my health and myself a priority and I am just so excited to GIVE THAT BACK!!!

In church this past Sunday, we were talking about how people often (and I'm totally guilty of this) say "Do what makes you happy", but with time and seasons of life, many of us in our Sunday school class shared how we're acctually the happiest when we help others and put their happiness before our own....somehow it comes FULL CIRCLE and our happiness compounds & grows.

I wanted to share all of that to say--->>> Yes, I have had a BIG transformation, but I'm not finished yet....I may not have over 60lbs to loose, but there are plenty of people who do, or what want to make big changes in their lives and financial futures...I'm ready to get to helping and doing my part....I'm bubbling over with excitement!!!

If you're ready for a change, fill out THIS application and I'll be glad to fill you in on all the details of my upcoming challenge group.  ~Kendra~
