Feel like quitting?

We all know there are times when quit something is actually a good thing whether it's a bad habit, a negative relationship, or even a job that doesn't align with your goals. In those instances, quitting can be a HUGE step in a positive direction!

BUT (and this is a big but, by the way lol) quitting is NOT always a good option!  When deciding whether to not to quit something, start by looking back at why you started.  Was it to make a positive change in your lie?  Was it to work towards an ultimate goal you'd set?  Is it a required stepping stone to reach those goals?

Taking the time to reflect, review and analyze can really open your eyes and help make the 'quitting decision' much easier. This moment of reflection can be the turning point where you made the choice to strive onward despite obstacles or the day you move past negative energy in pursuit of God's calling for your life.  Make the moment count! :-)

Your ARE worth putting in the hard work needed to reach those goals. WHY did you start, and what will quitting accomplish? Think about those questions when the road gets rocky and your will to keep going wears thin.  Your 'WHY' needs to be soo strong and so important to YOU that is can push you out of that hole and get you moving forward.

Take time today to think about your WHY and really DIG DEEP so that it's something that will motivate you to push on throughout your journey!  ~Kendra~

2-A-Day Workouts....Say What??!!

So last Sunday I was hanging out around the house and decided to get two workouts in.  I felt so great after that I decided to make it a thing... Since I'm already up at 5am to feed the pups and keep them occupied while they mosey around the backyard ((with me just waiting for the to FINALLY potty!)). Why not take advantage of that time instead of sitting in the porch swing like a bump on a log. haha

So that's exactly what I did this week.....double workouts everyday minus Thursday (My PiYo rest day).    Check out a few of my workouts.....

Honestly, I have this weird motivation that randomly kicks in....like how I originally lost over 60 lbs. People always ask "What happened that made you change?" I always so no....I literally just woke up one day said enough is enough and I'm doing this.  Then I simply started tracking my food in a journal, working out to random Zumba workouts on YouTube and on until I reached my goal.  There was no BIG ah-ha moment, no horrible experience that made me finally decide to do what needed to be done.  I just decided and stuck with it....

And I guess that's what I did with 2-a-day workouts too.  I have big goals (actually tiny, toned ab sized goals hahaha) and sitting on my bum isn't gonna help me get there.....so HERE GOES!!

PiYo Progress Update: Less than 2 weeks to go!!!

PiYo has been going pretty well....up until around day 30 I had not missed a single day.....Then, we got this little guy:

New puppies are so much fun, but I think it's a lot like babies.  After you have one that grows up you completely forget how sleep deprived you are in the beginning. hahaha Noah wakes up at 1am on the dot ready to play every morning.  So I play with him for about 10mins and then get him back to sleep.  Then I get up for the day at 5am and it takes about 30mins to get him up, fed and take him out to potty (He's still scared to be outside by himself.).  Hopefully by winter we'll have the whole outside with just Zoey (our shihtzu) thing down to a science. ;-)

After a few days of getting him settled, I got back on track and I'm finishing strong.  Checkout a few of the workouts:

This morning I decided to switch it up and workout outside......so Day 43 is done and now I have a little less than 2 weeks to go to complete the program....woohoo!!!  :-D  What workout are you doing today?  If you haven't found a program that's right for you, I'd love to partner with you and help you find one based on your needs.  Finding a program that's right for your fitness level and something that you enjoy doing is a HUGE part of setting yourself up for success!! ;-)

PiYo: 4 Week Progress Update

Hey y'all....I can't believe how quickly the 1st 1/2 (4 weeks) of PiYo has flown by!!!  This has been by far the easiest workout program to stick to for me.  Not sure why....maybe it's because I workout in the mornings now or maybe because Chalene (the PiYo trainer) is so motivating.  Whatever it is, I'm LOVING it!

When I took my progress pics this morning I was thinking....I bet there hasn't been a huge change since Week 2, but I was really surprised to see more definition in my tummy.  Checkout where I started on Day 1.....

Once I hit the two week mark I decided to take some progress pics....checkout the change between Day 1 and Day 14:

Working out in the morning has really helped me stay on track and I'm so excited to say that over these last 4 weeks I haven't missed 1 single workout.....I usually miss a few workouts, but NOT this time!!!!  Yay!  So here we go....my official 4 week progress pics:

(Above) From right to left it's Day 1, Day 14 and Day 28.  Woohoo!!!

Time for a change of pace

So not only is it a 3 day weekend, which is a nice change of pace, but I also changed my hair up a bit.....

That's right....no more blonde going on here!! Brown hair seems so fall time to me, so it's a perfect transition into what will hopefully soon be some cooler temps.  Who else is getting a little tired of the heat??!!  ;-)

Oh and I'm also trying out a new beauty routine....shockingly my obsession with clothes shopping and my love for good lipstick doesn't really mean I'm a stickler for a good skin care routine.  I know, I know....I should be......AND that's exactly why I am trying out a routine for the next month.  I'm using Derm Exclusive.

The routine's pretty simple:

I just use this once or twice a week to exfoliate dead cells and shrinks the appearance of pores.

This helps with dark spots and uneven texture.

Step 3: Collagen Lift
This helps firm and lift skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and under eye circle.

I love this, because it instantly plumps lines and wrinkles while reducing the appearance of dark circles. (Who doesn't need that?!)

I can't wait to show y'all the difference in my skin after 30 days!! ;-)  ~Kendra~

2 Week PiYo Results and Update- Making Progress!

Today officially marks the completion of two whole weeks of PiYo...woohoo!!  Just getting 1/4 of the program done is HUGE for me.  It means for two weeks straight I've woken up at 5:15am and knocked out my workouts (exempt on the weekends...I slept in lol), it means that I pushed myself through and my back pain is way less because of it, it means I'm taking control of my health again and NOT letting it control me.

So let's rewind for a sec....Here's where I started thanks to a back injury and over 2 months without a single workout:

And here's where I'm at today:

The loss of inches in my midsection is super noticeable in the side by side....Gotta LOVE that!!!

I am feeling back to my old self...yes, I still have back pain from time to time, but it is soooo much better than before!!! I have so much more energy and honestly, the energy helps me stay on track with my eating, because I actually have the energy to food prep, which helps me stay away from the dreaded drive-thru lines.  I can't wait to see what changes the next two weeks will bring!! :-D

If you struggle with join pain, PiYo may be a GREAT fit for you!  Add me on Facebook HERE or EMAIL ME for more info.  ~Kendra~

3 Day Refresh Results

Let's start with WHY I needed a little refresh.....well, back track to early June 2014.  My back started hurting and after a week the pain grew so intense that my husband took me to a Rapid Med center to get it checked out. I was basically hunched over in pain.  The doctor made sure I wasn't ill and sent me on my way with some pain meds...my super smart hubby suggested I go to a Chiropractor, so the next week that's just what I did and man, am I glad I did.
He did X-rays and found out my neck was slanted abnormally, I had slight scoliosis in the middle of my back and the vertebrae at the bottom of my back were smushed (yes, that's a technical term lol) together.
I started going to him three times a week for shock therapy, adjustments and acupuncture. As time went along my back started feeling better and now I'm only going twice a week....yay!!  I recently got cleared to start exercising again, but during my back injury my eating went to crap....so to get on track with that and my exercise i kicked off the 3 Day Refresh.  I started by taking the dreaded BEFORE pics....check 'em out:

Yup, I felt super fluffy and just not my best....

Day one of the 3 day refresh:
I started at 139.8lbs, a fluffy tummy and low energy.  On day 1, I did a PiYo workout, which really helped to loosen up my back.  Drinking my Shakeology for breakfast was not only filling, but it also helped me stay on track with drinking it daily.  I was worried that i'd feel hungry all day, but i didn't....I did have to go to the restroom at least once an hour with all those fluids!!! lol  But hey, my desk is far from the bathroom so I got in some extra step. (Always look at the positive, right)
Day two of the 3 day refresh:
I was down a pound and my energy was up.  Did another PiYo workout and woke up early to do it.  I've found that getting my workout in before my day gets started makes it waaay more likely that it will get done.  The Fiber drink was not my fav so I decided to use a bit less water on this day so I could just chug it down.  Well, I didn't use any ice...this made it a goopy consistency.
TIP: The colder the water the better the Fiber drink mixes!!
Other than the fiber drink, everything tasted yummy!! ;-)
Day three of the 3 day refresh:
Day 3 went really well...I was so excited that I completed 2 days that I had the confidence to finish up strong.  Got in another PiYo workout and stuck to the plan 100% again.  Yay!  It was a little tough, because my hubby decided to make the yummiest meals every for dinner all three of these days so on the last day i was dreaming of what dinner I was going to have the following day lol.
I planned it to end where the next day was my PiYo rest day and my hubby and I's date night....the perfect storm! lol
Sooooo the results are in! When I started on my journey with the 3 day refresh, I had no idea I would get these kind of results!  Most people have lost between 3-5lbs in three days....although I only lost 2.3 the difference in inches around my tummy was AMAZING!!!  I lost a ton of the fluff and just felt solo much better.  Since my back injury in early June my diet suffered like no ones business!  My workouts were nonexistent too, so that in combination with my diet, I needed something BIG to kick off my weight loss again. I still have about 20 lbs to go to hit my ultimate weight loss goal, so I’m a work in progress, but the refresh totally helped me get my groove back.

PS: My diet was really really suffering before I started this, I was eating horribly since my back injury.  I didn't cheat at all during those 3 days. I absolutely plan on doing this quarterly!!
